STATE OF DISBELIEF!!!
As I lie on the ground, gazing at the stars,
I am amazed by your magnificence, your perfection,
Manifested in the shiny bright stars, the crescent moon,
The air that I breathe, the swaying trees, the chirping crickets,
And yet, in the midst of all this magnificence, I still doubt,
Doubt, when you tell me you love me just as I am,
Doubt, when you promise me a future full of hope
Oh, what a constant state of disbelief!!!

See, while the birds sing and the elephants trumpet,
While the lions roar and the goats bleat,
The humans whine, the humans complain,
We sin and fall short of your glory,
And still, you love us
In the midst of our disbelief and constant sinning,
You still forgive us; welcome us back to the fold,
And yet we continue to be in a constant state of disbelief!!!

Did you not create us in your own image, own likeness?
Are we not priceless pieces of art, perfect in every way?
Did you not part the red seas and save your people?
Did you not make the bread rain down from heaven to feed your people?
Did you not deliver your people to the Promised Land?
And yet, they grumbled, they worshipped other gods
They forgot and demanded a King,
What a sad thing to be in this constant state of disbelief!!!

Deliver us Lord from this human state of disbelief,
May our faith be like that of Abraham,
Ready to sacrifice his one and only son for you,
May our courage be like that of Gideon,
Though the least in his family, from the weakest clan
With just 300 men, 300 trumpets, the Midianites turned on each other
May we hunger and thirst for you like David did,
The man without any doubt of your love, the man after your very own heart!!!

No longer then shall we doubt your word and promises,
Though the night may be too dark, the desert too dry,
Though the road may be rocky, difficult, unbearable,
Though we stumble and fall,
Though the journey of life may make us weary, discouraged, disappointed,
May we always remember that we are never alone,
That dawn shall come and the sun shall shine bright again,
That your word lives forever in this life as well as in the next,
No longer in a state of disbelief, we soldier on, surrounded by your magnificenceJ
